Candi Dasa - escape from the busy south

On the way to Amlapura, Amed or Tulamben, it is impossible to miss a small fishing village Candi Dasa. Nowadays, Candi Dasa is a modern escape from the south areas where both ways are built up by guesthouses, bungalows, hotels and villas of any choice and cost, but is still continued to be measured and calm place.
There are no noisy clubs, local barkers and taxi drivers, the shopping is not so great, but however, there are many good dive sites near the offshore islands, fishing and trekking.

From the coast there is a nice view of three dive sites - Gili Tepekong, Mimpang and Gili Biaha. To get there is possible by rent outrigger or jukung. They are used for fishing and snorkeling there as well.

Gili Tepekong is the most famous of the Amuk Bay sites, where you could enjoy the huge schools of fish like sweetlips, jacks, big troupers, sharks, and pelagic. When the current combines with swell, a strong spiraling down current develops. Therefore, dives should be prepared very carefully.

Next to pier there is a rocky beach, however, others places offers regular sand.
Candi Dasa coast gives a nice view of calling at Padang Bai ships and ferries from the neighboring island of Lombok.

In the center of the village, overlooking, a lagoon with water lilies, is Pura Candi Dasa, a temple dedicated to Hariti, the goddess of fertility.
